How to Check App Permissions on Android
Learn how to review the permissions an Android app can access and adjust permissions you do not need.
Why permissions matter
Apps may request access to information or hardware such as the camera, microphone, location or contacts. The permissions an app needs depend on its features.
Review permissions
Open Android Settings and look for Apps or App management, select the app, then find its Permissions section. The exact menu names can vary between Android versions and manufacturers.
Use least access when practical
If an app does not need a permission for a feature you use, you can consider denying it. Some app features may stop working when a required permission is disabled.
