How-To Guide

How to Write Better AI Prompts

Clear instructions usually make AI responses easier to use. A useful prompt gives the model context, the task and the desired format.

Start with the basics

Start by stating the goal. Add relevant context, constraints and the audience. If the output needs a specific structure, show that structure explicitly.

Practical steps

For example, ask for a short answer, a table, numbered steps or a checklist when that format matters. Review the result and refine the prompt when something is missing.

Important note

AI systems can still make mistakes even when a prompt is detailed. Verify important facts independently.
